Now that
you have all your tasks, roles, and resources entered, it's time to assign
responsibility. The result of work in this editor will be your completed
Responsibility Matrix. As you can see in the legend in the top, right-hand
corner of the editor pictured above, a "dot" represents a team member who
will be contributing to work on a giving task, and a "circle-dot"
represents the team member with overall responsibility for a given task.
Only one team member can have a circle-dot on any given task.
To use this
editor, just select a task from the list of tasks on the left, and apply
dots and circle-dots to team members by clicking the cross by each name on
the right. Click once for a dot, again for a circle-dot, and once more to
remove the dot.
Task
Search for WBS #
If you know the WBS number of the task you'd like to work with, start
typing it in the search box. The search will take you to that task in the
list, or the task with the WBS number closest to it.
Resource
Display
Choose whether you'd like to work with resources viewing name alone in
the editor, or viewing name with department.
Matrix
Task Layout
This option lets you choose how you'd like to view your tasks on the
Responsibility Matrix: Side-by-Side, or Overlapped (to save space).
Matrix
Task Sequence
Choose in which order you view your tasks in the editor. By default,
you'll be viewing your tasks in WBS order, the order you entered them. If
you've already sequenced and are returning to make changes, you may want
to view your tasks in sequence order as will appear on the schedule.
